My sister has passed I am the closest person left in her family. she did not have a will what will become of the property she left in Detroit Michigan?

It passes to her heirs at law. Do you have any other brothers and sisters? Are your parents alive? Did she have children who were born to her or adopted by her? You will have to open an estate in Alabama (assuming that is where she lived when she died -- you didn't say) and then open an anciliary estate in Michigan.
