Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Alabama

Unlawful property sale

I was recently asked to sign a quit deed on property that is willed to myself and other family members. I responded with a certified letter to the atorney as well as to family memebers letting them know that im not interested. I recently found out that my name has been forged on the document and the property located in Annistion Alabama downtown area has been sold. The letter sent asked that i respond asap also notorizing the document. This tells me that this document was notorized unlawfully. I have contacted the lawyer but i have yet to recieve a respond. I spoke with other family members involved letting them know that im in the process of taking action against any parties involved. What is it i can do?

Re: Unlawful property sale

Go to the office of the County Clerk in the County in which the property is located. Obtain a copy of the Quitclaim Deed which bears your signature. Have the document examined by a questioned document examiner. If it proves to be a forgery, consult a real estate lawyer in AL who will explain how to quiet title in the property to the extent of your interest, how to void the deed and clear the record.

The property will have to have more than nominal value to support the expense of the effort.

Someone may have comitted a crime which should be reported.
