Legal Question in Social Security Law in Alabama

my husband was just diagnosed with bladder cancer, he is applying for disability but they need a marriage license, we are have a common law marriage and don't have a license what should we do?

Spend the $25 or so and get married for real. A common law marriage is decided AFTER the fact by a judge. Only when the judge says you were common law married will anyone else believe it. If you have other issues about getting a marriage license you should hire a lawyer.
