Old car accident judgement from 1996
Old car accident judgement from 1996, relocated to go to school, never received any notice to appear, the law firm wants ten thousand dollars for the release of my license, can they do this, and how do I get my Alabama driver's license released

Most likely this was a subrogation action against you that resulted in the judgment. You main priority at this point is to satisfy the judgment. You should be able to negotiate that debt down with some of the factors you indicate. Once the judgment is satisfied the law firm that holds the judgment should notify the DMV to restore your license. Please contact me if I can help in this matter.
