Legal Question in Traffic Law in Alabama
Traffic ticket technicality?
Recently, I got a traffic ticket for not having my lights on while it was raining. At the bottom of the ticket it reads: Instruction to officer - Ask if motorist's address is correct on driver's license. Instead, the officer copied the address off my license on to the ticket without asking if it was correct. However, my address has changed since the issuance of my license. So now the address on my ticket is wrong. I've heard of cases being dismissed based on dumb technicalities. Would this situation be considered a ''technicality''; and if so, what steps should I take to have the case dismissed?

Re: Traffic ticket technicality?
no - the only thing that might happen is that you might not receive a notice sent to you by the clerk and you might miss an important date. you need to notify the clerk of your correct address to avoid any future dificulty.
