Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Alabama

Changing my Will

I had a will prepared by an attorney but now I want to make changes. How difficult is this to do without an attorney. I want to do this as cheaply as possible.

Re: Changing my Will

That depends. How important is it to you that your changes actually work? My grandmother used to make changes in the margins of her will to save money. What she didn't realize was that the changes not only didn't work, they actually invalidated the entire will. If you want to make changes, call the lawyer who drafted your will and ask her/him what it would cost to draft a codicil to your existing will. That shouldn't cost nearly what the original will cost you.
