Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Alabama
My father died without a will. My two brothers and I are the heirs to the estate worth approximately 200,000 including property and accounts. Does the estate have to go through probate court? How will the estate be distributed?

Alabama law requires all estates to go through Probate Court. While many people choose to distribute estates informally, in order to cut off the claims of creditors, unknown heirs and others, it is much wiser to probate the estate. For an estate of this size, I doubt you could effectively distribute the assets without Letters of Administration from the probate court anyway. I recommend hiring a probate attorney for advice.
