Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Alabama

My Father passed away 9/10. He had investments. I am named as an heir along with my siblings. How do I find out how much I was given and when I can expect to collect any of it.

Was there a Will? Has it been offered for probate? Did the assets such as "investments" pass outside the will or are they part of the will? Lots of questions for you to answer.
