Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Alabama

Father's Funeral Bill

I want to be reimbused for my father's funeral bill that I believed I was suppose to pay..later I got the will stating it was to come out of his estate which his wife is over. I don't want to contess the will just reimbursed. So when do I ask for this money, is there a hearing? Do I wait until she gets everything in her name and she is responsible or this will be settled before or during the probate procedures?

Re: Father's Funeral Bill

Most wills have a provision at the very beginning that states the testator wants his last expenses paid from his estate first. The funeral would be such an expense. As long as you submit your expenses within six months of the filing of the will for probate, you will be reimbursed. Contact me if you need help.
