husband rights upon wife death

what is the husband rights in the state of alabama when his wife dies? The house and all the bills are in the deceased name.

The job insurance policy is in the mother's name can the husband override the insurance policy and the 401K policy?

Does the husband get bank account money which is in the deceased name? The husband has nothing in his name everything is in his wife name who is deceased.

Please advise.

You have a statutory right to do what is known as "elect against the will" meaning that you are entitled to the first $50,000 of the estate plus more depending on the number of children etc. See a local lawyer to determine the exact amount. See my website, www.NolanElderLaw.com.
