Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Alabama

inheritance

my father has been married to my step mom for 20 years. he says he needs no will because most everything is in both their names, ans he has told her what i should have. step mom and i dont get along and i dont trust her, can i fight her after he dies and win anything, we are in alabama and i am my fathers only child

Your father is wrong. You are right. If he dies prior to your step-mom, she will get everything and you will get nothing. Period. End of story. If he truly wants you to have something from his estate, he had better take steps and quit being too cheap to pay a lawyer. Otherwise your step-mom and her kids will enjoy everything he left, leaving you out in the cold.
