Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Alabama

Who is next of kin in Alabama? I have a deceased aunt with no living spouse and no children. Her mother is living but in her 80's and she has two living sisters, three nieces and two nephews. There is no probate. One niece and one nephew were listed as beneficiary on any financial (money) assets. That leaves a house with a mortgage that we hope we can sell for what is owed on it, a 2001 Toyota Solara, and then personal property within the house. One niece has handled all the affairs and it is assumed that she has inherited all the personal assets. I am a niece and we want to purchase the 2001 Toyota Solara for $5500 and the niece handling the property wants to use those funds to purchase the headstone and help pay bills of the estate. Can I be considered Next of Kin and complete the MVT 5-6 or does the Mother (my Grandmother) in her 80's have to do it and then me purchase the car from her? Can one of the living sisters complete the MVT 5-6?

You should pay a Probate attorney for an hour of his/her time.
