life insurance wants copy of appointment
My aunt passed away recently, we did not want to go through probate, because I bought her home and she had nothing else besides life insurance. One of the insurance companies however, wants a copy of the court document naming the executor. Is there a form of some kind we can use or are we going to have to probate?

It depends on the policy's beneficiary designation. If the estate is listed as the primary beneficiary or if the form is blank, then the proceeds of the policy are an asset of the probate estate and they would need the form and you would have to probate.
If however the policy names an individual as primary beneficiary, then all that should be needed are the death certificate and the appropriate paperwork from the company.
