are monies in probate account not suppose to draw interest

large amount of money was in probate account for the last 4 months and now recieved less money than orignally placed into this account

Did you receive any fee applications or notices relating to fees charged by the executor/administrator or attorney for the estate? These expenses (along with Court costs) would likely have been paid from the estate funds and may account for the difference bewteen what went in and what you received.
