My ex husband and I have a 16 year old daughter ( his only child) and he went into kidney failure and had his leg amputated. During his surgery he had a stroke. His brother than got a Power of attorney form notorized from a out of state cousin and started using it. he is now selling his assets and even went and took my daughters name of of my ex husbands life insurance. My divorce decree says it must remain in my daughters name. what should I do.

Re: Can he use this power of attorney

Simple. You need to contact a local lawyer ASAP. Don't be penny-wise and pound foolish. Contact a lawyer with NAELA such as Jim Zeigler there in Mobile. Or go to this site:

www.naela.org and search by zip code. Your old divorce atty might be able to help but this is more an issue with elder law than with domestic relations.

Good luck,
