Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Alabama
My probate lawyer informed me that even though my mother's will leaves everything to me specifically that my deceased brother's adult children must be identified with current mailing address so the probate court can notify them. My mother and I have not been close with my niece and nephews (her grandchildren) over the years and as such I have not been able to locate them. My father is also deceased and I have no other siblings.
Does the probate court make any concession for "due diligence" in cases such as this? What happens if I'm not able to provide an address for each of them?

This is precisely the type of question you have a Probate attorney for! Ask him or her about this. There is a procedure for this sort of problem.
