Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Alabama
Thanks for your help. At the probate of a will, can a recipient elect to pass, or not accept. Also, what authority do parents have over assets left to their minor children? Decline also?

A person can renounce a bequest meaning that they can turn it down. While a parent can accept tangible personal property for a minor, it would require a conservatorship to accept money or real estate. I do not think that a parent can renounce a bequest to a minor though.
