Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Alabama
verbal agreement
my great-grandfather passed away and left the lady owner of a grocery store his estate. the lady told the judge and all lawyers that she would sign the estate over to the family, now 3 years later she has not done this. the probate judge says she doesn't have to now. what can we do? we've been living on the estate since before his death.

You may have a claim for adverse possession, and may be able to proceed as outlined in the State statutes where you live.
