Is there a Will or are you the sole surviving next of kin? What was the county of residence of your departed love one?

If this family member had named you on all their property, deeds, bank accts, etc., as a joint owner with right of survivorship, then all that property automatically passed to you by operation of law and there is nothing further you need to do.

Otherwise, an administration of the probate estate is now necessary. My condolences over your loss. Have a blessed week, Chip
