Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Alabama

My mother died on February 1. My brother and myself do not talk. I need to inform him of the will and give him a chance to come and get the items. What is the right way to do this? How long does he have to claim his belongings? I really hate to correspond to him, because he didn't correspond with our mother.

She did not have much, some items and very little money.

This is the executor's job. Are you the executor? If so, you will need a lawyer to help probate the estate. If not, ask the executor to get to work!
