Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Alabama

Wills-ex-husbands' rights

My sister just passed on last week. She is from Alabama and went through a nasty divorce in 2003. The ex-husband has gone through the house and found a 1992 will that left everything to him and his three children (which the sister did not adopt). According to Alabama law he cannot benefit from the will. However, he claims the rest of the will is still enforcable (everything to his three children). v/r bill

Re: Wills-ex-husbands' rights

No, the children of this grasping former spouse would have a claim only if your deceased sister was their biological or adoptive mother.
