Legal Question in Banking Law in Alaska

overdraft after my account is closed
my husband and i deposited a $150 check into our account. about 6 or 7 months later, after we had moved away and closed our account, the bank notified me that i owed them $150 because the person that wrote us the check had stopped payment. am i legally responsible to pay this?

you have a right to recover the money from the drawer of the cheque. however, the bank is entitled to recover from you for the bounced check.
