Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Alaska

Repo. on paid. vehicle

I had an acct.with Ak. credit union, 2 notes one line of credit, one on vehicle. I made all payments up to end bal of $42.00. I filed bankrupcy and had asked to make agreemant with them on sig.note, they said no. they were informed of hearing and sent no reply and no one showed up at hearing. When I wrote for payoff bal (42.00) they used my address and had a bank in Mn, ( where I now lived) reposess it. I "took" van back and proved to bank here that I had proof that they took it ilegally, so I got it back, but they won't give me titile, and keep adding up charges on statement, and my lawyer wont return my calls..please help!!!

Re: Repo. on paid. vehicle

If you still owed $42, the car was not paid off. Because of the bankruptcy, they can't come after you personally (even through nice demand letters); all they can do is go after the car (the lien survives the bankruptcy). You apparently do owe the money (or the car), so you should pay them what you owe, and then they will release their lien.
