Responsible for Wife's credit card debt?

My wife went a little crazy with an AmEx card that she applied for in her name only. At one point, without my knowledge, she obtained an extra card for me as well. Am I responsible for the debt? AmEx is saying I am, but I know I am not on the original application / security agreement.
