Legal Question in Family Law in Alaska
if i had a domestic assault on my girlfriend and was convicted can i go back home with her ...the issue ! i had a domestic assault on my gf when we both were in very unhealthy life styles. i got charged. she didnt, because i wouldnt charge her .really doesnt matter nor is it an excuse for what i did... my issue is ! weve both been in counceling and have letters of support ,proof and character letters from doctors and faciltators that we are on a good path..in fact we are doing things today to help make awareness about domestic abusde. and also help famillys in need ..someone called the cas on us and they came to the house and removed me ...im not the father of the children we do have an emotional bond to one another ..we have done everthing they have ask of us and still they wont let me go home they keep delaying things...i have asked to do voluntary urin samples and they have not done nothing still its been three months. As ive said we have both changed today and im am very aware of what my choices have done in the past toward s my partner and the effects its had on many people. today i am in tuned with my emotions, know my choices and have changed many of my core beliefs and can prove that..my gf wants to take them to court though im affraid because of my past life ...we are members of the comunity that work with interval house and help famillys ..we just want to move forward in our lives together and keep helping others ...we feel as though all the hard work weve done to better ourselfs and the programs we have taking were for nothing if people cant believe in change ...we are starteing to feel like victims of the cas...if there is anyone out there that knows of a simular case we would love to here from you ...we have offered to work with them and we do understand there concern and involvement but the real question is how or can i return to the home and what can i do to speed up the process...thanks

It depends on the wording of the judgment of conviction ( &/or the DV restraining order, if any). Do either of these prohibit you from returning to her home or from being near her?
