Legal Question in Family Law in Alaska

I have a son with a Marine thats deployed to Afghanistan right now. He's never helped during the pregnancy or after the baby was born. I want to file child support but how do I go about doing it if hes deployed? and do I have to file in Alaska or North Carolina? Also am I entitled to any of his BAH?

From your zip code, it appears you are in Anchorage. So, yes, you would file for child support in Alaska and, depending on how long you have been there, you should file for custody as well. Was the child born in North Carolina? How old is the child?

The Servicemembers Civil Relief Act limits your ability to obtain default judgments against active servicemembers. So, if you were to sue him for child support, and if he failed to contest the suit, you would not be able to get a default judgment until after his active duty is over.
