Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Alaska
As a practical joke a group of friends put Nair on a buddy after he passed out drunk. He is threatening to sue, does he have any legal grounds?

What are his damages? No body hair? Seems minimal.
In principle he has a valid claim for battery. Depending upon where the Nair was placed and what happened as a result, he may also have a claim for intentional infliction of emotional distress. I can imagine scenarios in which he would have additional claims. I can also imagine scenarios in which the group of friends would be guilty of various crimes.
Then again, it is quite possible that he suffered no significant harm. If that's true and he sues he should still win, but he should only be awarded a token amount of damages -- perhaps just one dollar.
