Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Alaska
Our small club elected new officers, the out going officers, (we cleaned house) have refused to recognize the election and are refusing to turn over files and records. We asked, by motion at the annual meeting for the files, and have sent a "business" style letter. No luck

And you want to know if you can take them to court to require them to turn over the records?
Sure, you probably have the right to those records if you can establish that the election was properly conducted according to the rules and by-laws of the club. Is the club incorporated?
