Legal Question in Immigration Law in Alaska
Applying for H2B visa
My prospective employer and I are looking into applying for a H2B visa so I can go work for him up in remote Alaska.
What steps does my employer need to take?
What documentation does he need to supply?
What steps do I need to take?
What is the best way to garentee approval (as fas as it can be garenteed)?
How long does the process take?
Would you recommend the help of a lawyer or attourney?
Finally, what costs are involved (not incl. legal help)
Thanks for your help... The more I read US govt sites, the more confusing it gets!

Re: Applying for H2B visa
I would need to know the position offered. Your employer would need to start with the department of labor in Alaska, and from there file with the USCIS. There will be advertising costs and filing fees, aside from attorney fees. For most occupations there is a shortage of H2b visas, and I suggest that either you or your employer consult with an attorney in the near future.
