If the loss of your baby resulted from the fall at work, you may well have a worker's compensation claim against your former employer. It would not be permitted to fire you to avoid such a claim. Additionally, depending on how many employees work for the employer, discharging you under these circumstances may well be a vioation of the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA) and the Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978.
