advance paying in full of a one years apartment rental lease
because of past credit problems my application for a one years lease contract has been denied. i have sufficient funds to cover the one years lease contact. i have offered to pay in advance in full the entire one years lease contract. is that legal?

Yes. A landlord can deny a lease to a prospective tenant for a good reason, or for no reason at all, but usually not for a bad reason, such as race.
Even though you are able to prepay the rent, bad credit could be a reflection on some other aspect of character that would make for an undesirable tenant. For example, you might do damage and fail to pay for it. Therefore, poor credit is arguably at least a 'good' reason. However, the landlord doesn't even need a good reason to turn you down.
