Legal Question in Social Security Law in Alaska

Lease Expired

My question is hopefully a simple one. Our lease expired back in March and our landlord did not send us a renewal unitl May, which we never signed since we were purchasing a home. We sent our landlord a letter telling him we will be moving out on July 30. He said we are suppose to give him 60 days notice and he would not except our letter. From the little research I have done, it is to my understanding that we are now under a Month-month lease where we are only obligated to give 30 days. Could you please let me know if this is right? Thank you.

Re: Lease Expired

Since your lease expired, you would be on a month-to-month lease. You can leave with 30 days notice and your landlord could ask you to leave with the same notice unless there is some property code statute in AK of which I am not aware.
