Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Alaska

Children from first marriage getting less than children from current marriage

My husband and I have 2 children together. My husband also has 2 children from a previous marriage.

We want to write up our wills and leave almost everything to our children. The children from his previous marriage are both over the age of 18.

My question is, if something were to happen to me and my husband, can his children from previous marriage contest the will so they can get more ?

They will ingerit from their mother, which is why we want to leave 99% of everything to my kids.

I am worried that my husbands children will try and take everything away from my kids.

Re: Children from first marriage getting less than children from current marriag

There is no law in Alaska which requires a parent to treat their adult children equally when drafting a will.

While it is customary to at least mention each and every child in the will to avoid the later argument that one or more children were ommitted by mistake, the amount to be left to each adult child is entirely up to the parent.
