Re: probate

Informal Probate of an average estate in Alaska usually takes between five and twelve months, depending on the nature of the assets in the estate and any claims which may be asserted by creditors.

The minimum time to close an estate is usually about five months because publication and a four month claim period are required prior to closing.

Publication may not be required in some circumstances, and a partial distribution prior to closing may also be possible, again depending on circumstances.
