Stolen item reimbursement responsibilities dispute
Ok. I am attending in FHHS. I am the president of the freshmen class in the student gov. In October, we have the homecoming activities. There is an activity called Powder Puff, it is where class girls play flag football against different classes. Classes meaning grades. The freshmen class officers arranged an after school meeting in our advisor's room.
We had the meeting and the next few days, she said that she had a watch and a necklace in her class and after the meeting and when it was time to go home, it was gone. We were not informed at the time there was such objects were in the room.
Her room is about 25x25 around there. According to her, she kept the watch on the other side of the room from where she sat. In addition, it was not even her watch and neither was the necklace. It was another fellow teacher's. The watch had a diamond in them and necklace was gold plated.
Now she is saying that freshmen class should reimburse the other teacher for her loss. There is no proof that it was our class at all. She is saying that her last class would never do such a thing.
Is there a law that could get us off the hook of paying the reimbursement? SO please RSVP me as soon as possible.

Re: Stolen item reimbursement responsibilities dispute
Neither you or your classmates are "on the hook" unless and until there is evidence that someone took the items in question. The person responsible for reimbursing/replacing/returning the items is the person(s) who took the items.
