Legal Question in Banking Law in Arizona
Check canceled\City gives new to 3rd party
My Co. had finished refurbishing the City ''dog pound'' final check ($5,000) was mailed, before I could deposit or cash it, a local business woman had someone that works for the City stop payment, and, had check re-issued to her or her business. The reason for this was her brother passed away during this ''job''. He recieved $5,000 for the first phase. The second phase he had no ties to, I am the sole owner of my Co. registered with Trade names & Trade marks. At the beginning of ''job'', and in the past he used the Co. name, as if it where his Co. I want to have legal action taken with both parties the City worker and business woman. Where to start, and can I do damage in a monatary way to both?

Re: Check canceled\City gives new to 3rd party
Sounds like a small claims court lawsuit, naming both the city and the woman who hijacked the check.
