Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Arizona
Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
I have nothing of real value, what is considered an asset?
What types of assets are excluded?
1 Answer from Attorneys
Assets and Exempt Assets
Anything you have has value. Example: clothing, kitchen utensils, furniture, appliances, sporting goods, vehicles, your home, etc. Intellectual property is also an asset, example: copyrights, trademarks, or patents. I don't know what you mean by excluded, but you are allowed to keep your exempt assets in a Chapter 7. I don't know which exemption scheme (federal or state) that applies in your state. I suggest that you get your questions answered by a competent bankruptcy attorney in your area. Good Luck.
