Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Arizona
Corporations filing chapter 7
Can a subchapter S coporation file bankruptcy chapter 7 "pro se"?
I am president of a coporation that went belly-up in Feb 99. We have been paying off various creditors with whatever assets we had to hand. Last payment to a creditor was in August 99. Have no assets and a few liabilities (about $2500 worth). The business failure has been disastrous to me personally, but fortunately I will not have to file bk personally. Some information I have received has suggested a corporation can only file a bankruptcy with an attorney. Is that correct? It ain't like we are Microsoft or something. Would appreciate a response with a reference, if possible.

You can not file pro se. But the good news is that there is seldom a reason for a corporation to file Chapter 7 at all.
