Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Arizona
signing over property prior to bankruptcy
My aunt is filing for bankruptcy soon but wants to put her house in my name first, what is the law regarding this.
Can the courts take it away from me to liquify?
How long a time must she put it in my name before she files?

Re: signing over property prior to bankruptcy
The transfer would have to be disclosed on your Aunt's bankruptcy paperwork and would be subject to possible forced sale. The time limit would be within one year of filing. If may be that she doesn't need to make this transfer. She can probably keep her house in her name and retain the house even though she files bankruptcy. Please feel free to call me to discuss this. ph. (800) 303-0720
