Legal Question in Business Law in Arizona
Breaking employment contract
Is it true I can walk away from an employment contract? What penalties might ensue? I've lasted more than 30 years in a youth obsessed business. Current employer wants to keep me but I feel I should find different work before I'm too old to be an attractive hire. I'm being pressured to sign a new contract or get out. My previous contracts had escape clauses. New owners say they never grant escapes. I can't count on the right opportunity in a new field to appear when a new contract expires in exactly a year. To maintain income and benefits I'm considering signing but bolting if I have to.

Re: Breaking employment contract
Your question is one of labor/employment law. Please re-submit.
Know that attorneys cannot pass judgment on a contract without the document in front of them, and all the facts. See a labor law attorney for the best information.
Good luck.
