Re: Business

Your message indicates that you are in Arkansas. I do not know where the boyfriend and business are located, but presume Arizona. More facts need to be known to advise you. It looks like you have an oral partnership, with a capital contribution of $25,000. Are there documents to substantiate that you were a partner? Was the contribution made by check? Are there witnesses who know facts about your agreement?

Please consult with an attorney. You have, of course, seriously disadvantaged yourself by not having a written agreement.

We see so many ladies on this site who enter into "partnerships" with a boyfriend, for a business, an investment, or to purchase real estate. This comment will be for those who might read this response. Remember the three rules of business agreements:

1. Get it in writing.

2. Get it in writing.

3. Get it in writing.

Also, take note that the guys who are not committed enough to marry you may be the same ones who will take your money, and leave the "relationship" with your money, the other benefits they received for a time, and no commitment or obligation. Beware of doing business with "boyfriend."

Consult with an attorney. We cannot learn enough facts here to analyze your entire case. If you can prove the partnership, you can sue for an accounting and to dissolve the partnership.

Good luck. I hope you are able to salvage something.
