Legal Question in Business Law in Arizona
Changing business from LLC to sole proprietor and business name change
My business was set up as a LLC, I owned 90%. My partner is no longer around and she signed over her 10%. I want to change my business name and I want to change from a LLC to sole proprietor. What forms do I need and how do I go about filing them?

Re: Changing business from LLC to sole proprietor and business name change
Why would you want to stop being a LLC? Because you now have a one member LLC, it will be treated as a sole proprietorship for income tax purposes, but may give you somewhat of a liability shield under state law. If you wanted to, you could dissolve the LLC, at which point you'd be a sole proprietorship, but it doesn't seem to make sense to do so.
