Legal Question in Business Law in Arizona
Copyright infringement question
I am a new graphic designer and need to know if I can use a famous painter's artwork in one of my designs.
The design is for a non-profit organization and I will not be charging them or receiving any compensation for the work. If I do need consent who do I contact? The publisher? The artist name is Jack Vettriano. Thanks in advance.

Re: Copyright infringement question
Try to reach the publisher or the heitrs of the artist and ask for permission otherwise you will violate the artists rights

Re: Copyright infringement question
I do not believe it matters that you are not compensated, or that it is a charity. You cannot exploit another's work unless it is in the public domain.
