Legal Question in Business Law in Arizona
Executive Material?
I am a 23 yr old recent collage graduate, I was requested to interview for a small, very profitable company for an assistant genreral managment position.
The owner informed me that he had choosen me for three reasons:1 I was young, 2 I was married and owned a home, and 3 I had recieced a bachelors degree in business. He told me and my wife, his intentions were to train me to manage the company so as he could retire. I was promised life time secruity and an eventual six figure income with ownership possibilities. I took the position, and soon found the owner to be very commanding and pyscotic, on the 11th day of my training I was backhanded slapped in the mouth for yawning. This incident was followed by daily hour long sessions in which he insulted and belittled my intelegence. After two months and thirteen days I was let go as I was not executive material. My question is do I have any legal standing to file suit as I feel abused and harrassed by this 64 yr old man? I do have a personal journal of daily events that document every days events

Unless you had a written employment contract, we recommend you contact the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission under US Government listings in your phone book. They can advise you if you have an employment complaint which they recognize and will assist you with.
Re: Executive Material?
You may have a good case. I'm not an employment specialist, but I know a good one, Kraig Marton, who is at the firm of Jaburg and Wilk.
