how does our small company go about forclosing on a liened property?

That depends upon the type of lien. Mechanics or materialman's lien? If properly perfected, must be foreclosed by a suit within six months.
Judgment lien? Sherrif's sale. (Challenging)
Other lien? different procedures.
Cannot answer your question without detailed facts. You will probably need an attorney anyway to do this. Very difficult to do on your own.
