Legal Question in Business Law in Arizona

Legal Issues of New Website

I own a business and am planning on starting an anonymous blog that reviews other shops in the same industry as my own. I aim to be fair and truthful but am I allowed to freely critique other businesses anonymously even if the information is not favorable? Or take photos of their shops and post them? My goal is to bring attention to the shops in the area and to help with constructive criticism, as well as fuel discussion on our industry. What are my risks?

Re: Legal Issues of New Website

Careful what you start, your competitors can turn around and flame you in return. Your competitors will find out it is you, even if it is an anonymous blog. We can research the current business and legal climate on this matter and advise you for $500. You need to know that even if we are able to give you a favorable opinion, you may still get sued, even if based on a legal analysis you will prevail after costly litigation. You may chalk this up to the costs of doing business, as many high profile people do. We can advise you on various legal strategies to avoid much of the brunt of a backlash, however.
