Legal Question in Business Law in Arizona
Should I get money for this
I worked at a body shop and my daughter wrecked her car and brought it to the shop for me and only me to work on. The car sat there for a week, on the day the parts came in I was fired. I got a new job right away but the shop would not release the car. They wanted storage and a parts restocking fee. They didnt want to loose a $8000 job. After a week my daughter just gave up and let them fix it. My daughter came to me to fix it and I brought it in the shop. I would have made money on the job and so would the shop. And this hurts right before christmas. Im a single parant and I dont think my daughter signed a work order. Can you help me. Thanks--

Re: Should I get money for this
If there was no work order signed, then they did not have the right to charge anything or impound the vehicle until you paid them money. By agreeing to let them fix the vehicle, you have waived your claim for their wrongful refusal to release the vehicle.
Further, without an agreement to compensate you for bringing the job in, you are out of luck with your claim for compensation, because it is purely speculative as to what you might be paid.
You need to consult legal counsel before you make crucial decisions which affect your rights.
