Legal Question in Business Law in Arizona
non-compete enforecement
I work as an independent contractory & am thinking of starting my own business. The company I work for has given me clients & many of these clients have expressed an interest in staying with me should I leave. I have a non-compete clause. How enforcable are these & can they tell my clients they can't work with me if the contracts they have are expired.

Re: non-compete enforecement
Covenants not to compete are enforceable if they are reasonable in their duration and geographical location. I have indeed seen employers sue on these contracts, since many people think they can just disregard them.
See an attorney with all the documents and facts to show.
Good luck.
