Legal Question in Business Law in Arizona

provide information

my dad (who passed away 2 years ago) was involved in a lawsuit and was receiving $xxx each month. After he passed away his lawyer told my sister and I that he would forward his $$ that he received month to us ''as a favor'' - so he did. When I ask him what the suit was about and the details/paperwork on it he told me ''dont worry about it...its stashed away in my files in storage...''. Without really thinking about it I let it go...

Turns out that this last June was our last payout (according to the laywer) BUT I have paperwork (that was faxed over to me via his accountant about a year ago) that states payout should of ended JULY.

I called him and told him this and he FREAKED OUT! He told me that he has paperwork saying its stops in June. So, I asked him to fax it to me to see and he freaked out even more and hesitated ''why?! It ended...no one is trying to take advantage of you and this isnt your case - ITS YOUR FATHERS and I am doing YOU a favor by giving you his payout which I shouldnt....''

After much debate he ended it with ''fine, ill go through my files and show you it...'' and hung up the phone on me.

My question is - do I have the right to receive this last payout even though it was under my dad's name?

Re: provide information

The devisees of your father's estate receive his proerty, either through probate of his will or by assignement if the property right was in a trust (sounds unlikely.)
