Legal Question in Business Law in Arizona
Reviews Blog
I am looking to start an anonymous business review blog with a comedic edge, meaning I might poke fun at aspects of their design, etc. If I only speak the truth and back it up with photos and only state my opinions, am I in the clear?

Re: Reviews Blog
Generally speaking, truth is a defense to defamation and opinions are not actionable.

I agree with Mr. Wade. However, if you start deliberately offending businesses by name, you have to be prepared for them to retaliate. They will likely get attorneys (or have a team already), and I can think of at least a half dozen causes of action that the businesses may be able to take against you. I'm not saying they would win any lawsuit, but they would tie you up in court for a while. Of course, it's free speach and all, but...Just be prepared.
